Priamo v budove je aj trojtriedna materská škola. Jej vzdelávací program je zameraný na regionálnu výchovu. Malých škôlkarov vedú učitelia k láske k obci, regiónu, ku kultúrnym hodnotám a k prírode. Výhodou školy je využitie všetkých daností, ktoré ponúka prostredie obce, vrátane cestovného ruchu. V miestnom hoteli organizuje škola plavecký výcvik, v zime v okolí obce lyžiarske kurzy.
Škola vychovala mnoho úspešných absolventov, odborníkov vo svojom odbore, ktorí pôsobia nielen doma, ale aj v zahraničí. Za všetkých môžeme spomenúť také mená, ako sú Ľubomír Fronko, Ivan Bátory, Vladimír Balco a ďalší.
The school was established in 1947. Its construction was supported by the head of the commission of education, the poet and writer Fraňo Kráľ. The first bell in 1953 called to the school not only children from Liptovský Ján, but also from other 7 surrounding villages. Even today, it is the catchment school for the villages of Podtureň and Uhorská Ves. It is also attended by students from Beňadiková, Liptovský Hrádok and Liptovský Mikuláš. The school strives to create the best possible conditions for the education of students. To promote language learning, mathematics and physical eduacation, the number of hours of these subjects has been increased. The school is especially proud of its computer science classroom and the multimedia class with a 3D printer. Each class is equipped with interactive technology including computers, interactive whiteboards and projection screens. There is a gym with modern gymnastic equipment and a small fitness center. The school also has a canteen, a school library and an outdoor area where the nature classroom and playgrounds are located. The School Children´s Club follows a program based on the four seasons. There is also a three-class kindergarten directly in the building. Its educational program is focused on regional education. Small children at the kindergarten are taught to love their village, their region, cultural values and nature. The advantage of the school is the utilization of all the qualities offered by the environment of the village, including tourism. The school organizes a swimming training camp at the local hotel, and ski courses in the winter in the vicinity of the village. The school has educated many succesful graduates, experts in their field, who work not only at home but also abroad. The most notable include Ľubomír Fronko, Ivan Bátory, Vladimír Balco and others.
